Pastor's sermon is based upon our gospel lesson of Mark 6:24-35. We hear the reaction of the crowd to the miraculous feeding of 5,000 people. How do we react to God’s grace? God’s gracious and ultimate gift to us is His only Son, Jesus Christ, who offered Himself as a sacrifice for us. He is the Word of God made flesh and our Bread of Life. Jesus satisfies our hunger for purpose and meaning beyond ourselves. He awakens in us other hungers: hungers for peace; justice; loving kindness; and a humble walk with our God. No matter how often we feast at God’s table, these are the hungers that never leave us. Amen!
