Pastor's sermon is based upon our gospel lesson of Mark 6:30-34,53-36. Jesus calls his disciples to: "Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while." And the good news is that we, too, are invited to rest. Why is that? It’s because Jesus knows us and our weary, tired lives, so often filled with demands that are lurking just around the corner. The invitation to rest is there in our Gospel text. It’s not complete until we disciples of Jesus Christ can see ourselves as personally invited. The question then is, “Will we will we accept Jesus' invitation to Sabbath?” God hopes so! Amen.
