Pastor's sermon is based on the gospel reading from Luke 24:13-35. In worship, we gather to hear Holy Scriptures read, and have the Word broken open for us. Whenever we gather at the table of our Lord’s Supper, our eyes are opened to the presence of Jesus Christ in the holy meal. Our gospel lesson reminds us how our Risen Savior brings hope and new life in response to worry and despair. Pastor tells the story of his mother’s transition from living in her house to living in an apartment in an assisted living facility. She saw the face of Jesus on several compassionate people along the way. This gave her hope and new life in the midst of major change. Amen!
