The sermon by Pastor is based on the gospel lesson from Matthew 3:1-12. Pastor asks us: “Who has been 'the John the Baptist' in your faith life?” For Pastor it has been the Rev. Charles Dawkins. First impressions can be deceiving. Pastor Charles seemed at first, to be a no-nonsense-person with very little joy in his life. But Pastor Larry found out that, on the contrary, Charles was very joyful, especially when he was serving Christ and ministering to prisoners during his retirement years. Charles despised anything that drew people away from God. Pastor Larry was blessed by getting to know this man of God who pointed to Christ and prepared his heart for the Lord.
