The gospel writer wants us to know that Jesus is unique among humankind. Jesus is also a practicing Jew who was brought up in the faith of Israel. In our lesson, Jesus is pulled between going back to Nazareth with his family and being in his heavenly Father’s house. In life, we are often faced with choosing between good things. But, being wise to the will of the Father for our own lives is easier said than done. We are all encouraged to listen for God's call in all that we do in life.
