Matthew 18:15-20
Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Pastor's sermon is based on the Gospel lesson. Jesus hasn’t left us on our own after ascending into heaven. He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit in order to guide us in our relationships. Jesus calls us to prayerfully nurture the kind of caring, vulnerable, honest, and authentic community that he talks about, in order that literally anything is possible. Why is that? Because God’s will and God’s presence are revealed to us as we Christians gather together in faith, hope, forgiveness, and love. The hard part, of course, is doing it, not just talking about it. God calls us to commit to putting relationship above being right and to practice giving and receiving forgiveness. Amen!
