Luke 18:9-14
Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost

Pastor’s sermon is based on the gospel lesson of Luke 18:9-14. In a mere six (6) verses, Jesus tells us what he’s about to say. Then he goes ahead and tells it. And concludes by telling us what he just said. Jesus appears to be driving the point home that our heart condition is important to our relationship with God, not our spiritual track record of doing religious works. As a result, this Gospel passage can really convict the most comfortable among us. Thanks be to God for mercy and forgiveness! Amen.
