Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

We are all part of God’s family and as baptized members of the Body of Christ, we are living and breathing agents to spread the good news of what Christ has done, is doing, and promises yet to do. As disciples, we follow a living Jesus who is always on the move. You can’t pin him down, even on a cross or in a grave. You don’t know where he will lead next and his only command is “follow me” because He is a God who desires to be with us. That’s why God calls us and yearns for us to be in communion with Him. Jesus tells us in today’s Gospel lesson that in the Kingdom of God, our own family is less important than God’s family.
