Pastor's sermon is primarily based on the second lesson from the thirteenth chapter of 1 Corinthians. It is a familiar Scripture reading and is often chosen for weddings. And hey, why not? It has lots of useful dos and don’ts and common-sense wisdom for how LOVE should and shouldn’t be between two married people. But the original audience for this so-called “hymn of love” was the community of faith centered in Jesus Christ. In fact, the type of love St. Paul originally wrote in the Greek language is what is known as “agape” love, the steadfast and unconditional love of God.
