Pastor's sermon is based upon the gospel lesson from John 18:33-37. Pontius Pilate hardly wanted to engage in a verbal sparring match with the poor teacher from Nazareth. He probably expected Jesus to want to set the record straight, and to deny whatever charges the Jewish leaders had brought against him. Instead, Jesus admits to seeing himself as a king, in that he admits he has a kingdom not from this world. And Christ the King came to bear witness to the truth. He is the servant king who calls us to remember who we are and whose we are. It is for this that Jesus came. Amen!
