Pastor's sermon is based upon our gospel lesson of Mark 6:14-29. At the beginning of his ministry, Jesus Christ proclaimed the Kingdom of God has come near. John the Baptist said the same thing at the River Jordan and from his prison cell. Mark wrote his gospel so that we would hear the story of John the Baptist, side-by-side with the story Jesus Christ. Jesus calls us to follow him and to tell the truth about sin and to name whatever diminishes the life and wholeness of any person. Amen.
