Pastor's sermon is based on the Gospel reading from Mark. Over the centuries, we humans claim that we want to meet God face to face. But when God became present as Jesus of Nazareth, well, he wasn’t exactly the God we were expecting. Based on what you know about Jesus and his journey, you might ask: “Hey! Now that I have been baptized into Christ, what is going to happen to me?” In our baptism, our Gracious God names us and claims us as God’s own beloved sons and daughters. We are also enlisted and invited to go with Jesus on a journey. The very start of that journey is baptism. As we continue the journey, we are called to take up our cross and follow Christ. Amen!
