Matthew 18:21-35
Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Pastor's sermon is based on the Gospel lesson. Intentional or not, we hurt other people and we ourselves get hurt. Wouldn’t it be great if it were just you and Jesus? But we have to deal with one another, and it can be really difficult to forgive. But that’s exactly what Jesus calls us to do in today’s Gospel reading. God calls us to forgive those who sin against us. We are to forgive as God has forgiven us. Our lives are to reflect the nature of the God we worship. Psalm 103, verse 8 reminds us that we have a God who is “full of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.” Thanks be to God!!! Amen.
