Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23
Seventh Sunday after Pentecost

Pastor’s sermon is based on the gospel reading from Matthew 13:1-9,18-23. A helpful question for us today is not asking whether we are inherently good or bad or rocky or thorny soil. Better questions are: “How do we deal with the inevitable obstacles in our way of spreading God’s love? Are we willing to partner with God and serve one another, to dig in deep into each other’s lives, to get our hands dirty, cut, and nicked?” Jesus is the Holy One who gardens right alongside of us. Take a good look at his hands. They already have holes in them. Amen.
