Pastor’s sermon is based on the gospel reading from Matthew 10:40-42. Jesus is about to send his disciples off on their mission trip. Recall from last week, Jesus commands them to be dependent on God’s provision through the kindness of others. Jesus calls his disciples to be willing to receive help and to be gracious guests. As followers of Christ, Jesus calls us to be both care-givers and care-receivers. Receiving help allows other people to share their gifts and to experience the JOY of giving. Amen.
