Fifth Sunday in Lent

Pastor's sermon is based on the Gospel lesson. Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. We look forward to His promise of the Resurrection on the Last Day. We also give thanks for the continual miraculous raisings and renewals that happen throughout our lives. We are transformed again and again as we experience many deaths. They may involve the loss of loved ones; the loss of a cherished job; a divorce; or a forced move. These deaths can also mean the giving up of old ways of being that no longer work. They include the painful work of inner transformation, which involve not only grieving, anger, and regret, but also joyful growth. We give thanks for Jesus, who continues to dwell among us and to comfort us in all our sorrow, through our fellow members of the Body of Christ. Amen.
