Luke 12:13-21
Eighth Sunday after Pentecost

Pastor's sermon is based on the gospel lesson from Luke 12:13-21. Through the Parable of the Rich Fool, Jesus tells us that God wants a lot more for us than simply more stuff. What God wants for us is life, and love, and mercy, and community. And God is never going to stop sharing this message. Indeed, the same Jesus Christ, who warns against greed and invites us to have an abundant life, is the same one telling us of God’s love in the Gospel passages that we’ve been reading all summer. And in Luke's Gospel, Jesus carries this message all the way to the cross, so we can see just how much God loves us. Amen!
