John 17:20-26
Seventh Sunday of Easter

As we hear today's gospel lesson from John 17:20-26, it's really easy to hear it as being a "to do list" for the church. Because, let's face it, a to-do list is a whole lot easier to manage than it is to manage an experience as intimate as being the subject of a prayer by Jesus. We are not so much “called to action” in that moment of prayer, as we are called to wonder. We’re called to wonder why in the world the Father and the Son would spend their precious time discussing the likes of us and our little communities of faith. I suppose it’s because we have an awesome Triune God who loves us!!
